This beautiful fall day has me channeling my inner child in sheer, sequin, polka-dots. It is an extremely rare occasion you will see me in the ‘timeless trend’…however, this week I have incorporated them into two looks for you (probably more times than I have worn them in the past 5 years)

This modern take on dots fuses a fresh and sophisticated style with a light-hearted edge. The sheer, tulle, maxi skirt is covered in the sequin print and originally came as a two-piece set with a bustier bodysuit…a very Dior-inspired take on the gown you may have seen all over the red carpet on celebs such as Bella Hadid, Nina Dobrev, and Chiara Ferragni.

Merging the two styles allows for a little bit of mixing, matching, and adding elements of surprise, which is where the layers and combat boots come in. Because the skirt is a statement piece on its own..I kept everything else simple, opting for all black. Adding layers definitely makes this outfit more wearable…not to mention this chenille turtleneck pullover is honestly one of the softest things in my closet right now.

A lot of people tend to shy away from sheer pieces because they do not know how to wear them. Here are a few styling ideas to keep in mind for skirts like todays: cover up on top with a long sweater, try a bodysuit, leotard, or even leggings underneath. Fashion is meant to be fun…so use your imagination!
