If I had to go back about 7 years ago, my high-school/ freshman self would never believe I willingly and without hesitation bought a pair of Dr.Martens. Growing up I was forced to wear a uniform everyday as I attended a private all-girls school. Pleated skirts, polos, and sweaters detailed with the school emblem pretty much completed my wardrobe back then.

Do you want to know what the shoe requirement was?

Doc Martens.

We had to wear the super chunky tie shoes with our knee socks. Not only did everyone complain about how unattractive they were but they were SO heavy. After most girls just made the decision on their own to stop wearing them, and got ‘doctors’ notes to wear sneakers..the school ended up changing the school shoe. I couldn’t help but bring this up for todays post.

...Anyway!! the brand has been around for five decades and worn by a diverse range of individuals. With off-duty streetstyle looks being such a hit these days, it is no wonder the original work boots have made a comeback. This metallic pair are just the coolest. The mirror-shine finish amplifies the appeal of the classic boot beloved by the grunge generation. They toe the line between high-fashion and urban style…definitely a statement maker as well. What is especially cool about these boots is that they can be worn and adjusted to fit personal attitudes and styles.

The waffle thermal mini dress (by Cotton Citizen) I have on has a little bit of distressed detailing for a lived-in look, which I why I paired the two together today. The line is one of my favorites because they offer pieces that are the perfect combination of chic, comfortable, and cute. I added a black beanie, and silver ODP safari cross-body bag to finish this look. You can shop today's look below:
