I have officially checked out of New York Fashion Week and checked into my new shawl-like coat that I do not plan on taking off anytime soon. The earth tone colored plaid is neutral therefore very wearable and the belt at the waist is removable also giving this coat some versatility. Today's look is all about layering neutral pieces for a luxe look. Layering different textures of clothing is fun and chic. It allows you to wear your clothing more and more and can bring a whole new vibe to your look. Today I added sheer hosiery and a felt fedora to my favorite suede shorts and oversized faux fur vest…making this outfit very wearable for the current weather. Shop this look below:

Set the tone with dramatic hardware and modern details. Military-inspired pieces make a statement. Today’s ‘Alexander Military Blazer’ was an exclusive piece for Intermix, and unfortunately is sold out…but don’t worry you can still easily get this look! I have included a few other shoppable military-like pieces below that I love.
Instead of pairing my blazer with jeans or trousers, I went with a new pleated tulle mini skirt. There is something about the tailored jacket and bouncy skirt together that just works.

I shot this all white look last week before heading to New York City for fashion week. Red accent pieces make it perfect for Valentine’s Day and the soft fringe adds a cute and cozy feel. Hi everyone,
I'm kind of over the winter clothes so, I am starting to incorporate some new spring stuff into my looks. As the seasons change, I am finding myself drawn a little more to color then I normally would be. I'm not quite sure if it's a permanent thing or if it's just giving me a little lift after the winter. I guess we will see how it goes.
This week is fashion week in New York and I am so excited to be attending some of the shows and head out for some fun with friends. Yesterday I got lucky enough to shoot a bunch of great new looks before the cold weather struck again (hence today’s mini skirt). A floral print helps to brighten up our current stuck in winter minds…so why not. I paired this mini with a classic black turtleneck and oversized blue wool-blend coat. It has a wrap-like silhouette and belt, which cinches in the waist for a cozy feel.
A cheerful Edie Parker Yes clutch also brings a more springy vibe to this look. This one is no longer available, but I picked out a few other favorites of mine below. I am a little late to the game with my knee-high boots, but I got the best deal on this pair, which I am obsessed with…so you can expect to see them a lot in the next week (oops!!) I recently purchased this faux fur coat from Edun and what a great purchase it was. The coat retailed for $2,000 and I was lucky enough to nab it for a mere $399. What a steal and boy is it warm on these cold and windy days. It is one you can wear for an evening of dress or just throw it on with a pair of jeans, which is what I did today. Hi Everyone!!
Back on the blog today, I guess we should consider ourselves pretty lucky considering it's just now gotten to the point of freezing out and it's the end of January. Winter is passing quickly and I'm already planning my get away to warmer weather. Looks like maybe sometime in March so I have been shopping lately for those swim suits and warmer weather clothing which has started appearing in stores and on line.
In the meantime today I'm all black and white, wearing leggings a turtleneck, my Stuart Weitzman boots and this black and white grid coat from BB Dakota, which is lighter weight and will carry me well into the spring. I fell in love with this black cap from Stella McCartney and I just want to wear it all the time. It is just so chic.

These black jeans detailed in ruffles from the knee to the floor are probably one of the coolest sample sale finds ever. The ruffles are so chic and girly. Pieces like this are my favorite because they are so unique and it is difficult to find similar items. On top I went with a sleek jacket with a soft leopard-printed for a polished look. My favorite new layer is this jacket from J.Crew. It is so fluffy and teddy bear-like made from a Sherpa fabric. Olive green is a neutral color so I decided to spice up this look with calf hair booties and a gold lettered graphic tee…Toast of the Town. I love the color red this time of year. It is so stunning.
Last week I received this beautiful custom made coat all the way from Dubai. This floor-length coat is a statement piece for sure. I cannot thank the designer Katya Kovtunovich enough. She is taking the world by storm with her modern interpretation on Arabic fabrics by creating clothes that appeal to women worldwide.
I paired an all black look underneath for a chic, yet simple look as this coat does all of the talking. A matching beret and jeweled belt add the finishing touches. Keep an eye out for this designer as she has royal and celebrity admirers including Lady Gaga.
Tis’ the season for layering...a look that can keep you warm but also make an outfit more interesting. All you need to do is combine a few basics along with some similar style pieces. My basics today consist of a navy turtleneck and a pair of jeans. I have mixed in a feminine and fitted houndstooth blazer with a buffalo-check vest and oversized scarf.

I am rocking another one of my favorite midi skirts today, which also can be perfect for the holidays and holiday parties. This one is printed with stripes and birds and has such a delightful charm to it. Classic buffalo check =a no-brainer. It has such a cold weather feel to it. Today I paired an oversized wool checked scarf with a similar style down vest, which is perfect for layering. The pattern just gives off feelings of warmth.

This fringed suede skirt is such a showstopper and can work wonders with just about anything. Today I am getting a little into pattern mixing with stripes and patchwork booties. Stripes work because the colors look great together and the skirt adds a solid, which breaks up the prints. To get the J.Crew look, it is all about the magic in the mix.
