Pretty Picnic

It's the weekend!!!

Wow, I cannot believe the summer is flying by and in a few days it will be August. It is such a short season!!! On the upside however, I will be going on vacation very soon so I have been getting ready for that, making my last few purchases. One new item I got was a camera. Knowing my photographer was not going to be around I wanted to start taking some shots on my own. No comparison to the work he does, not by a long shot. I have a lot to learn and I think I just might be in over my head but I'll get there. I have pretty much kept things only about the clothes but I figured if I am going to continue on with this venture then it's time to start opening myself up so, coming up on two years now, that will be one of things to look for. I want my followers to be able to relate to me not just what I am wearing. All suggestions gratefully accepted.

Today I kept it pretty simple, just wearing shorts and a tee but, I wanted to share my new picnic basket and blanket that I got from Joss & Main. I have wanted these items for awhile now and the price was right. I love spending the afternoon relaxing in the park and just taking in what's going on around me. Hope you enjoy!!! Have a great weekend everyone. Shop links below:

Tassel Dress

Finally, next month I will be back in Long Beach Island and I cannot wait…and today’s little number is definitely coming with me. When I go to the shore all of my outfits are usually easy breezy, and by that I mean…denim shorts, little dresses, and pretty much anything that equals no fuss!

This LWD has a bit of boho vibe from the tassel accents at the hem. I decided to elevate todays look with a silk floral scarf and straw boater hat to add a few extra summer details. I have seen adorable tassel pieces all over the internet and not just on clothing…on hats, clutches, and even shoes. Below, I have linked white dresses with tassels at all price ranges. Have a great week everyone.

Subdued Stripes

If you happen to be a girl on a strict budget then this outfit is the one for you. I have spoken about this before, you do not always have to have the most expensive items in your wardrobe to be stylish. Mixing high end together with less expensive things is done all the time by smart shoppers and no one will ever be the wiser. Just look for things that are made well and have great fabric. Believe it or not, this skirt was only $20.00 and it is the cutest!!! I found it at forever 21 one day when I was just shopping around looking for a few things. perfect for the office or on a day when you just need to run around getting things accomplished. During the summer I will very often wear dresses or skirts during the day because they are easy and lady like. I paired it with another inexpensive top from H&M. The wedges are Paul Andrew, the purse, j.crew, a bit more expensive but adds just the right touch, picking up the same neutral tone of the top and the stripe in the skirt. This is a smart looking outfit, very affordable and one would never guess what I paid for it. Don't be afraid to mix it up, you just might surprise yourself.

Red Threads

Happy Tuesday everyone,

I am loving the look of scarves these days, rather around the neck, as a belt, around a hat or in the hair, they add a certain je ne sais quoi. This one in particular has an equestrian look to it, the brown tones mixed with the red are so elegant. Originally I was going to wear a red shoe but then decided to pull from the brown so I added my calf hair booties for that unexpected punch. No matter, it's still all about this scarf for me. I went from having it around my neck to tying it around my head and you are probably going to see me wearing this look at least a few times this summer as I play around with this accessory. Today I decided to wear sleek white wide-leg pants and this red and white striped off the shoulder top, another popular look this summer. Just a red belt, my purse, a little jewelry and the look is complete. Hope you enjoy and thanks for stopping by. Shop today's look below:

Get Graphic

Starting my Monday in this cowgirl/prairie like/floral patchwork tee from Coach. I literally could not decide on which one I wanted because they are all so adorable. The bold colors are the perfect statement for summer. I went with the white because I wanted to focus on the vibrant reds, and also because I wanted to pair my red Toga boots detailed with western buckles…I thought they were a perfect match for this look. This tee is also available in grey and also in an irresistibly soft sweatshirt.

I have on white shorts from Alice & Olivia today, but I also love the idea of red shorts (maybe with a different color shoe). For shorts on the dressier side and the perfect wide-leg trousers, Alice & Olivia is always my go to. I am mentioning the trousers because I think they would look really cool as well however, I would do a heel or wedge instead of a bootie. The other tee’s I was debating over are screen-printed with different ‘landscapes’ and are super unique. What I love most about today’s post is that all items/ similar items linked below can be mixed and matched with each other and also with several other colors.  I hope you enjoy. Have a wonderful week everyone!

Pattern Play

This is the kind of summer dress we all search for. It can be worn just about anywhere…from a festival, to dinner, and during the day with sandals. The geometric pattern in pale blush on this mini is playful and light hearted and detailed with delicate straps and ruffles. If you are not into shorter dresses it is also available in an ankle length version. You literally cannot go wrong.

If you remember from a previous Instagram post I had ordered these sandals and they were way too small. I re-ordered them because I loved them so much and went an entire size bigger…and thank goodness I did because they just fit. These pink and orange leather crisscross strap sandals from MSGM match almost to perfect, and the royal blue in the straps adds a little extra touch. These also are available in white with green and black with yellow. Shop below:

Breezy In Blue

Well, it's back to a few days of chilly weather but luckily these photos were shot last week when it was much nicer and it's looking like it's going to change back soon, so yay for that because I am not in any hurry to go out and leave my comfy bed. I think I would rather just pull the covers up and hang right here for the day.

Today’s outfit screams summer with these wide leg wrap pants. I love how they move when the wind blows and the side slits allow for a little leg to show when you are walking, just a fun to wear summer pant. If this print may look a little familiar it is probably because it is very similar to the long pink maxi dress I wore a few weeks back (also shoppable below) Today I added a crop top with charming ties at the hem and a pair of wedges for a look that makes you feel like you belong at the ocean. I hope everyone gets through their Monday blues and enjoys the week. Thanks for stopping by.

Hello everyone,

Well, as you have seen on my Instagram, I just got back from Aruba and I had the most amazing and relaxing time. Every year I take two or three vacations with my family and we have been there several times because the Island has the best food, nicest people and pretty much guaranteed great weather. Two years ago we stayed at the brand new Ritz Carlton, which we loved but it is very quiet so this year we decided to go back to the Marriott Stellaris where there is much more activity. The grounds are beautiful and the sun was sizzling, so much so that we had to spend a little less time than usual on the beach. You are right at the equator so you can just imagine how great the weather really is. I cannot say enough about the food and we have several restaurants we frequent, never being disappointed.

We kept it a little more low key than usual this year not fussing as much for dinner, more sandals less on the heels, hair and makeup, which was kind of nice but doesn't always make for the best pics so I will restyle and repost some of my outfits when weather permits. In the meantime I'm back in the Northeast and back on the blog.

I wish I had this maxi dress while in Aruba…it just screams for clear blue water and pink sand. It has that princess feel to it with the flowy bottom. I paired it with pink pumps, and a light blue Edie Parker clutch for a little more color. I hope you like it as much as I do! You can get this look below.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Star Bright

Dress:Tularosa|Booties:Saint Laurent(sold out)|Sunnies:Jimmy Choo

Dino Petrocelli Photography

If you follow me on Snapchat (laurrecc) then you may have seen me wearing this dress in Aruba trying to get “the shot”….I ended up not getting the best ‘shot’ of my outfit (I blame it on you Catherine!!!)  JK. Anyway, this dress is one of my favorites so I had to make sure I posted it on the blog.

I love the embroidered stars throughout and the ruffled detail at the bottom. Lately I have been so drawn to ruffles and pleats for the spring and summer. They are so feminine and fun. This dress is also available with long sleeves, as a shirt, or in navy and gold.  You can shop my look below. Thank you for stopping by today!!

Floral Flares

Forever21: Choker, Halter, Flares| Denim Jacket:Current Elliott (similar, also love this)

Dino Petrocelli Photography

It’s FRIYAYYY!!! (thank god)

I am really excited to share today’s look because not only it is super cool, but perfect for those of you who are festival bound soon…not to mention…it’s under $40 (excluding the denim jacket).

I love flares because they always make your legs look extra long. This allover floral print pair are knit and really comfortable. I paired them with a rust halter and oversized denim jacket for a very relaxed look..ideal for going into the weekend. This daisy choker adds a little bit of a hipster touch.

I already have another great idea for these pants, so stay tuned for that! For now, you can shop this look below and additional print flares that I love. Thanks for stopping by today. Enjoy your weekend!! XOXO

Yes

Skirt:Alice&Olivia|Coat:Maje|Boots:Joie (sold out)|Clutch:Edie Parker

Dino Petrocelli Photography

Yesterday I got lucky enough to shoot a bunch of great new looks before the cold weather struck again (hence today’s mini skirt). A floral print helps to brighten up our current stuck in winter minds…so why not. I paired this mini with a classic black turtleneck and oversized blue wool-blend coat. It has a wrap-like silhouette and belt, which cinches in the waist for a cozy feel.

A cheerful Edie Parker Yes clutch also brings a more springy vibe to this look. This one is no longer available, but I picked out a few other favorites of mine below. I am a little late to the game with my knee-high boots, but I got the best deal on this pair, which I am obsessed with…so you can expect to see them a lot in the next week (oops!!) This look is shoppable below. Thanks for stopping by today!!

Dino Petrocelli Photography

Good afternoon everyone!!! I hope everyone’s holiday was amazing! I feel like it has been years since I have posted a new look on the blog soo lets get to it!

These black jeans detailed in ruffles from the knee to the floor are probably one of the coolest sample sale finds ever. The ruffles are so chic and girly. Pieces like this are my favorite because they are so unique and it is difficult to find similar items. On top I went with a sleek jacket with a soft leopard-printed for a polished look. The jacket is now a sale…I would say a must to purchase!! I paired my Stuart Weitzman black calf-hair booties to finish off this outfit. Shop this look and similar items below:

Well Red

Dress:Christophe Sauvat|Boots: Maje x Minnetonka |Clutch:Isabella Fiore (older)

Dino Petrocelli Photography

If you have been following my blog and Instagram account then you know about these awesome over-the-knee boots. For those of you who are new- first of all welcome!! And second, these are from the Minnetonka X Maje collaboration.  Boots can be so expensive…so it’s awesome when you find a pair that are so reasonably priced.

The fringe on the back give the modern boots such a boho feel, so it only made sense to pair them with a flowy dress. The one I have on today is by Christoph Sauvat. The red printed dress is detailed with button closures, self-tie tassels, and beads.

Right now, most of the sizes in every color of the boots are sold out, but the good news is you can sign up to receive an email when they are back in stock. I went through and picked out some of my favorite similar style dresses that can also be paired with these boots. Shop Below & enjoy!

Knit Puffball Skirt

Turtleneck:Alice&Olivia(here in black)|Skirt:Maje (currently sold out)|Belt:Maje|Leather Coat:Theory(sold out/similar below)|Bag:Fendi
Dino Petrocelli Photography

Hey everyone!! I'm a little late on today's post…but this is an outfit I wore a few weeks ago during NYFW. Originally I paired this with a deep v-neck sweater, but since we are all in fall mode now... today I decided to go with a navy turtleneck. This skirt is from Maje, and sold out  fast (which is happening so much lately). To accessorize this look I added a two-tone fabric belt (also from Maje) a navy leather jacket over my shoulders, and my fav Fendi monster bag!! Shop similar styles below and enjoy your weekend!!

Varsity Mesh

Trousers:Zara(older)|Knit Bomber:J.O.A.| Bag:Fendi|Sandals:Collection Privee

Dino Petrocelli Photography

With summer coming to end, there are some really great deals out there.  Starting with Intermix, now 50% off sale, check it out.  I was able to get these great sandals for only $64.00. I found this J.O.A. Varsity mesh sweater at Urban Outfitters and these adorable print trousers were from Zara. Putting this outfit together was so easy...I just added a tank from Banana Republic and jewelry by Chan Luu and Alexis Bittar. Hair up in a pony and my new monster bag for a touch of fun. I found this outfit to be perfect for a day when I'm running errands. Casual, fun and comfortable...unfortunately these items are already gone but I have found similar items I have listed below to make it easy.  I also thought you might like a couple recommendations which are favorites of mine just in case you might be thinking of a warm weather get away as the seasons begin to change. Selections go quickly so get them while you can...

Happy Shopping!!

Heart of Gold

NYC Street Style

Blouse:J.Crew|Skirt:Alice&Olivia|Boots:Chanel

Dino Petrocelli Photography

I tend to forget how unexpected and cool gold outfits and accessories can be. Most people only experiment with sparkles and sequins around the holidays, but there are so many different ways to incorporate gold into your look.  I have had this skirt in my closet for so long and have never had the chance to wear it. It was a sample sale find at Alice and Olivia. When I got these Chanel pink felt short boots for my birthday I could not wait to pull it out!! They are probably one of my favorite editions to my fall wardrobe so far and they added just the right amount of color to this fun look. I was able to tone the skirt down a bit by pairing it with a white blouse, yet the gold hearts keep the outfit cohesive.

Don’t be afraid to add the sparkle or sequin for day wear and remember... “A little party never killed nobody”.

Easy Breezy

Two Words: One Piece. An easy and must-have item for those brutal HHH days (hazy, hot and humid) as my photographer Dino Petrocelli would say. Once you find the perfect playsuit the rest of your work is easy. The one I am wearing today is by a brand called Eternal Sunshine Creations. It is very breezy and has a boho feel to it…very effortless yet still chic. For short styles like this, sandals and cute flats are an easy addition. Add your favorite sunnies and you are ready to take on the heat!

Daisy,Daisy

Top:J.O.A|Shorts:J.O.A.|Wedges:Paul Andrew| Clutch:JCrew

Another day…another matching set. From crotchet to patterns, they never get old! The daisy-like pattern is cute and dainty and I just love the asymmetrical overlay on the shorts. It complements the summer pattern with a fluttery and petal-like element. Another way to add a touch of flair to your outfit this summer is by searching for pieces with subtle tassels…but adding them in moderation. The swishy tassel on this straw clutch and the braided wraparound ankle ties on this pair of Paul Andrew wedges add just the right amount of this trending adornment.
